Question

Name of my E-mail changes for the receiver

Hi all!

I'm trying to fix a problem I have had for a while.

When I use the gear box and look at my account info - it says my name and I make sure this is the email I use to send e-mails. Yet, when people respond to my e-mail they always say "Thanks Casey", my Dad's name. This is because this is who it says my e-mail is from...

Can anyone explain? Is it because my e-mail is linked to my Dad's somehow?

My name is under everything on my computer -including iCloud etc.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Are you sharing an Apple ID with your father? Are you sending mail from iCloud.com?

Are you sending the e-mails from iCloud.com or from the Mail application? Try going to Contacts, then select your card, then Card/Make this my card.

It says that my card is my card, and all my icloud and mail stuff is under my name.

Try going to Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Account Information/Outgoing mail server (SMTP), then click on the dropdown menu, and select the Edit function. See if there is a choice that has your father's email address. If so, delete it.

There was only my and icloud and gmail account for that. Both under my name.

I figured it out. It was happening when I sent my e-mails on my iPhone. My icloud name was under my dad's name through outgoing server name. Thank you for all your help!!!! I am a happy dude now 🙂
